Speaker, Fall Dinner 2014
From an email sent to Empire State Pride Agenda supporters on October 21, 2014:
Dear Terri, |
On Thursday evening last week, hundreds of supporters joined us for what was an inspiring evening at our 23rd Annual Fall Dinner.
For many, the most moving part of the evening were remarks delivered by Terri Cook, a Pride Agenda Board Member and mother of a transgender son. Her speech was so powerful, in fact, that The New York Times wrote about it the next day.
The importance of allies in the fight for transgender rights is unmistakable. We must all stand up together because, as Terri so eloquently relays, “This is all of our fight. No one is free when others are oppressed.”
Click on the below image to watch Terri’s brief and incredibly powerful speech and stand with us as we demand more be done so that Terri’s son and the thousands of transgender New Yorkers are equal under the eyes of the law.
Make a gift today to help us pass GENDA in 2015!
Warmly,
Nathan M. Schaefer
